Johnson is an SEI-authorized SCAMPISM
Lead Appraiser, an SEI-certified SCAMPISM
High Maturity Lead Appraiser, an
SEI-authorized CMMI?® instructor, and an experienced process improvement consultant.
He has been involved in process improvement with the SEI since 1987.
He has helped clients move from Maturity Level 1 to Level 5 using both the
CMM and CMMI. He has conducted more than 50 formal appraisals, including
four high maturity (ML 4/5) SCAMPI A appraisals. He is coauthor of Interpreting
the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach (Auerbach, 2003) and Ada 95 Quality
and Style (Springer, 1997).
Internationally, Johnson has helped clients in more than 20 countries to
improve their systems and software processes. He is past chairman of the International
Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Systems Architecture Working
Group and he has conducted presentations and tutorials to audiences exceeding
500 attendees at conferences including US SEPG conferences, European SEPG
conferences, Software Engineering Systems Analysis and Modeling Conference
(SESAM??“Stockholm), INCOSE Conferences (USA), Java and Object Orientation
Conference (JAOO??“France), Software Technology Conference (USA), and various
SPINs.
