"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

We did this by not
including a CD-ROM.
The primary change is to use CMMI version 1.2 as the basis for this book.
CMMI version 1.2 was released by the SEI in late August 2006. This change has
had an impact throughout our book, including the definitions and wording of the
process areas and their supporting practices, as well as the changed structure and
integration of the continuous with the staged representation of the model.
We have added much more information concerning the SCAMPI Appraisal
Method, to include what this appraisal method is, what its offi cial purpose is, how
it can help an organization??™s process improvement program, and what to focus
on in order to pass an appraisal. We have added information describing the most
rigorous appraisal method (the SCAMPI A) and how to complete the PIIDs (Practice
Implementation Indicator Descriptions). This new emphasis on the appraisal
is really the main concern of organizations that begin a process improvement program.
There is also a chapter on incorporating Agile Methods into CMMI process
improvement activities.
