Discipline Amplifications??”Simple guidance offered to direct the user as
to which discipline is more relevant for specific practices, or to offer some
guidance in applying the PA to the discipline. The disciplines are Systems
Engineering, Software Engineering, and Hardware Engineering. Supplier
Sourcing as a separate discipline has been eliminated from this CMMI version.
Its concepts have been incorporated into two specific process areas, and
into notes, tips, and hints. Integrated Product and Process Development
(IPPD) has been renamed as an addition.
Addition??”Any information or material that adds to the scope of the model
or how it should be used. This information is targeted for a particular user
community. Currently, the only addition to the CMMI version 1.2 is Integrated
Product and Process Development (IPPD).
Constellations??”Different types of CMMIs focusing on different topics.
