It is also where you deliver the product, and that means you get paid.
This process area expects the project to demonstrate each step to the user. This
activity should probably be done by demonstrating one or a few modules at a time,
rather than the entire system. If a phased approach for development has been used,
then this process area would expect to build a little, test a little, demonstrate a
little, and deliver a little, module by module. Integration testing (as defined by and
used by software engineers) is almost discussed here. The PA talks about testing
integrated modules as an example, but it seems to mean tangible products that are
being tested, not just software modules. This process area also overlaps with the
Verification and Validation process areas, which may occur in parallel.
This process area is not release management. Releasing products is covered
somewhat in Configuration Management, Supplier Agreement Management, and
Technical Solution.
Things that most organizations tend to forget about this process area:
