"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

Why? Because discussing risks only during an ???event??? (usually a bad thing
like the risk has already happened and now what do we do about it) only gives
exposure to your project when problems are about to occur. Plus, risk probability
changes over time and over the course of the project. The risk culture of senior
management in a Level 1 organization is simply, ???Don??™t tell me. I don??™t want to
know. Only tell me that things are fine.??? The risk culture in a Level 3 and above
organization is more proactive. They want to hear what might happen and what to
do about it.
Disaster Recovery may be included as part of an organization??™s risk management
culture and is included in a subpractice. Considering the risks associated with
Continuity of Operations has also been added. A risk repository can be built at
the organization level that contains the risks that most frequently were realized on
projects and their solutions. This repository can help project managers avoid these
known risks on their projects.
Things that most organizations tend to forget about this process area:
This PA is the big time of risk management.
