"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

Specific Goals and Practices for This Process Area:
SG1 Establish Performance Baselines and Models
SP 1.1 Select Processes
SP 1.2 Establish Process??“performance Measures
SP 1.3 Establish Quality and Process??“performance Objectives
SP 1.4 Establish Process??“performance Baselines
SP 1.5 Establish Process??“performance Models
SP 1.1 has changed wording. The complete practice now reads, ???Select the processes
or subprocesses (not process elements) in the organization??™s set of standard
processes that are to be included in the organization??™s process performance analysis.???
This process area includes measurements for both process and product. Additionally,
service has also been specifically presented as an area appropriate for measurement
(remember, the CMMI believes that ???service??? can be part of the ???product???).
This process area combines these measures to determine both the quality of the
process and the product in quantitative terms.
Process performance baselines and process performance models are now
included in goals for this process area and not just as suggested best practices.
