"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

All of the practices are really expected. Since
a lot of the practices are written to cover all kinds of situations, the informative
material provides clarification. The Appraisal Teams use subpractices and typical
work products to clarify the meaning of the practices and goals.
SCAMPi Fundamentals
As identified earlier, SCAMPI is an acronym that stands for Standard CMMI
Appraisal Method for Process Improvement. A SCAMPI Class A Appraisal must
be led by an SEI Authorized SCAMPI Lead Appraiser. SCAMPI Class B and
C Appraisals must be led by an SEI Authorized SCAMPI B&C Team Leader.
SCAMPI is supported by the SCAMPI Product Suite that includes the SCAMPI
Method Description, work aids, and templates. Currently, SCAMPI A is the only
method that can provide a rating, the only Class A method recognized by the SEI,
and the method of most interest to organizations.
SCAMPI is based on experience from previous methods, including:
CBA IPI??”CMM Based Appraisal for Internal Process Improvement
SCE??”Software Capability Evaluation
EIA/IS 732.
