"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

This
requirement is in addition to the standard requirement that an SEI-Authorized
Lead Appraiser must lead all SCAMPI A appraisals. The SEI defines
certification as the acknowledgement that an individual has attained a welldefined
level of understanding and ability in a particular body of knowledge
or skill set. In particular, High Maturity Lead Appraisers must have received
training in high maturity topics, for example, statistical process control and
probability and statistics, have high maturity appraisal experience, have developed/
implemented high maturity processes, and have built/taught courses in
high maturity topics. Applicants for this certification must also pass an exam
given by the SEI.
2. The Appraisal Team Leader (i.e., the Lead Appraiser) must validate that a
substantial portion of the organization??™s and projects??™ quality and process??“
performance objectives and statistically managed subprocesses can be mapped
directly to and support: (a) the established business objectives as stated and
disseminated to key employees of the organization, and (b) the needs and
priorities of customers, end users, and other stakeholders.
