"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

Other ???groups???
that might be included as part of the appraisal can be grouped by their function,
for example, project managers, programmers, or test personnel.
SCAMPI A appraisals must be performed by a formally trained Appraisal Team
and be led by an SEI-Authorized SCAMPI Lead Appraiser. Some team members
may be from your organization. Process documentation is reviewed by the Appraisal
Team. The format normally used to present this material is called a PIID. We discuss
PIIDs in Chapter 22.
A SCAMPI A is a formal Class A process appraisal method documented in the
SCAMPI A, Version 1.2: Method Definition Document (MDD). The MDD defines
three phases of the SCAMPI A:
1. Plan and Prepare for Appraisal
2. Conduct Appraisal
3. Report Results
The SCAMPI A Approach n 299
These phases are grouped into processes. The processes are grouped into activities.
Tables 21.1, 21.2, and 21.3 list the formal processes and activities for each phase
as shown in the MDD. The formal processes and activities from the MDD imply
a fixed sequence of activities, but as with most processes, there is more iteration
between the activities then implied in the exhibits.
