"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

The Lead Appraiser may also structure the Appraisal
Team into mini-teams (a subset of the entire team) to independently conduct interviews
of project members and other organizational representatives. The information
these mini-teams discover is relayed back to the entire Appraisal Team for
consideration.
Each team member must receive mandatory training from an SEI-authorized
Instructor in preparation for participating on the team. The required courses are:
Introduction to the CMMI
SCAMPI Class A Team Training
n n
The SCAMPI A Approach n 305
In our appraisals, we recommend that all team members go through the
SCAMPI course together, even if they have been trained previously. This approach
helps build team cohesion and allows everyone to gain an initial understanding of
the personalities and habits of the individual team members. It also allows the team
to begin to behave as a ???real??? team. Once this training is completed, the Appraisal
Team participates in the Readiness Review and the onsite appraisal period. The
Appraisal Team may also be expected to participate in PIID development.
