"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

The organization should be aware that the findings are based
on satisfaction of the process area goals in the CMMI and not on recommendations
that are offered by the Appraisal Team. Recommendations are optional. The
authors of this book prefer to keep the generation of findings separate from the
making of recommendations. We prefer to offer recommendations as part of follow-
on activities involving generating action plans.
Package and Archive Appraisal Assets Process
This final process covers packaging and archiving appraisal assets. This process
includes collecting lessons learned, generating a permanent record of the appraisal,
providing the Appraisal Data Package to the SEI, and archiving and/or disposing
of key artifacts.
The Appraisal Record is the organization??™s permanent record of the appraisal
documenting the appraisal conduct and results. When generating this record,
appraisal data must be cleansed or sanitized to comply with non-attribution and
confidentiality rules (for example, no references to specific sources, such as individuals,
projects, or support groups).
