"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

Summary
The key to blending Agile with CMMI is to build an organizational culture with a
balance between discipline and change readiness. Companies in defense, aerospace,
and other industries that require high maturity of processes, or those companies
that require safety-critical or life-critical systems, should carefully consider introducing
Agile practices into their existing development approaches using CMMI.
While neither promoting nor discouraging the incorporation of Agile into your
existing CMMI efforts, we have seen this approach work when properly managed.
Our recommendation to the Agile community is to use the CMMI generic practices
from CMMI Level 2 and Level 3 to amplify the benefits from Agile Methods.
Our recommendation to the CMMI community is that Agile Methods can
fit into your CMMI framework and will provide exciting improvements to your
organization.

This chapter talks about odds and ends that we have either skipped over or not
discussed in much detail. The purpose of this chapter is to give you some things
to think about and to offer some final words of what we hope can be construed as
wisdom.
