"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

Process impro ement in ades Your life
It is amazing how your job becomes ingrained in your perceptions of everyday
life. We have often spoken at the European Software Engineering Process Group
(ESEPG) Conference in Amsterdam, and we also have often worked in Amsterdam.
In all our years of working there, we have always talked about going to a comedy
club but never managed to make it there. This past year, we did. The comedy
club is Boom Chicago and presents improvisational comedy. While watching the
performance (very funny??”we recommend viewing a show), our process analysis
viewpoint kicked in. What we discovered was that the improvisation part of the
comedy really wasn??™t. The performers have predetermined skits that they perform,
with predetermined roles, predetermined gags, and predetermined characters. In
fact, one of the authors was selected to participate in the comedy act because he
apparently fit all of the above set criteria. He is fat, gray bearded, and wears big
glasses. He was also wearing a checked shirt, dark pants, and dark shoes.
