directly relate to them. So, those of you thinking of selecting the continuous
representation so that you can select only a few process areas for improvement
may be disappointed.
5. There are fewer procedures to write in the CMMI than in the CMM.
Hahahahahahahahahaha. Big laugh there. The CMM specifically called
out the phrase ???according to a documented procedure.??? However, those of
you who have done process improvement have noticed that just because the
CMM did not specifically call out the use of a procedure, one was often
required to enlighten your staff as to how to perform a function and how to
perform this function consistently within a project or across many projects.
The phrase ???according to a documented procedure??? is rarely if ever used in
the CMMI. But, if you read what constitutes a ???plan??? in the CMMI, you will
find that it includes a process description. So, just because the CMMI does
not specifically reference the term procedures it does not mean that there don??™t
