"Interpreting the CMMI: A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition"

An incremental life cycle for one organization can be
an evolutionary life cycle for another organization.
Communication Channels and Meetings
Describe how information is reported, to whom, when, and what gets reported.
What management meetings take place, how often, and at what levels? This structure
is usually followed throughout the organization and can help reduce the time
it takes to conduct management interviews. Briefly, how does the organization
track changes to plans, activities, requirements, and software?
terminology
What special terms are used that might be confused with another definition? For
example, at a nuclear facility where we once worked, the term quality did not mean
???quality assurance??? or even ???testing.??? It meant ???safety.???
Process Assets
Where does the organization store documents and code? What tools are used? The
Appraisal Team may request demonstrations of online tools and libraries. Demonstrations
should only take 5 to 15 minutes for each of the selected products. And
make sure during the demo that the tool actually works.
