If the
encapsulation is not consistent on each end of a point-to-point link, then the communication
between the sites fails.
Use the show interface command to verify proper con?¬?guration. The following example
illustrates a PPP con?¬?guration. When HDLC is con?¬?gured, ???Encapsulation HDLC??? should
be re?¬‚ected in the output of the show interface command. When PPP is con?¬?gured, you
can also use this command to check LCP and NCP states.
