"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

Note that these life cycle service development guiding principles include not
just service-oriented modeling disciplines; they also offer best practices pertaining to physical
management and operations of services in production environment.
There are two major categories of service life cycle disciplines that should be practiced
during service-oriented projects: season disciplines and continuous disciplines. Design-time and
the run-time disciplines are seasonal. They are often called season disciplines because they correlate
to the design-time and run-time life cycle seasons. Thus, design-time discipline activities
should be carried out during the design-time season. Accordingly, the run-time discipline process
ought to be followed throughout the run-time season. Conversely, service life cycle continuous
discipline activities are perennial. They should be continuously practiced during the service life
cycle and pursued alongside the design-time and run-time life cycle disciplines. Exhibit 2.10
