"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

This discipline introduces approaches to
align services with business strategies and goals. The business integration process is accomplished
by modeling techniques that associate services with business domains, such as lines of
business and business organizations or core enterprise products (refer to Chapters 9, 10, and 11
for a detailed description of business integration modeling best practices).
Service-Oriented Design Discipline. This discipline offers mechanisms to transform business or
technical services into logical solution-driven services. It also facilitates the discovery of service
relationship, establishes service structures, and optimizes service behavior (this topic is discussed
in detail in Chapters 12, 13, and 14).
Conceptual Architecture Discipline. The conceptual architecture discipline offers various best
practices to simplify organizations??™ service architecture complexities by identifying architectural
concepts that generalize technology imperatives and challenges. Refer to Chapter 15 for further
information.
Logical Architecture Discipline. The logical architecture discipline offers step-by-step guidance
and processes for assembling a logical architecture environment in which packaged technological
assets such as services and their empowering platforms collaborate to provide solutions to
organizational concerns. A detailed discussion of logical architecture principles can be found in
Chapter 16.
