"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

Exhibit 3.7 illustrates a merger between the treasury bonds trading service and the municipal
bonds trading service. They are both fixed-income services, and they are unified under the
fixed-income trading service. Note that the consolidation activity takes place during the run-time
season, when services are road-tested and examined for their cost-effectiveness.
Conditional Workflow Style. This style can assist with the development of service life cycle
scenarios in which a single service offers multiple execution alternatives. Each occurrence both
shares the same life cycle timeline and presents a different life cycle path. It should be remembered

that these scenarios describe the influences of internal and external events on a service??™s evolution.
Therefore, life cycle planning should also include a number of proposed solutions, represented
by scenarios, to minimize the negative impact on the business if one or more of the predicted
events should indeed materialize.
Are service life cycle scenarios types of conditions? Scenarios and their proposed solutions
are indeed conditional aspects of the service life cycle because they provide business and
technological execution options.
