The choice may be to iterate only on a single season, if necessary.
DESIGN-TIME DISCIPLINE-LEVEL ITERATION. The design-time discipline-level iteration advocates
repetitions of individual design-time disciplines, as noted in Exhibit 3.14. If the chosen plan,
however, is to iterate through all design-time disciplines, the previously described season-level
approach should be employed. Individual discipline iteration means iterating through only one
discipline at a time. A possible strategy, however, is to commission a number of teams to handle

simultaneous design-time iterations on a number of disciplines. For example, one group can iterate
on the service discovery and analysis discipline activities, and the other on service-oriented design
activities, as long as this process is coordinated and well managed. In many occasions, design-time
discipline-level iteration may require a sequential process to avoid simultaneous handling of a
service in two or more disciplines, and to reduce conflicting results.
