"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

As illustrated, the governance discipline best practices and standards
touch-point intersects the service life cycle workflow at the inception of the design-time season.
Likewise, the second touch-point indicates that an exit review is required at the conclusion of the
design-time season.
The recommended approach to planning touch-point timetables is to first categorize continuous
discipline activities into strategic and tactical efforts. Essential activities should be prioritized
first, and the least important should be optional for implementation. For instance, not all life
cycle process evaluation and verification activities conducted by the service-oriented governance
managers are strategic initiatives. Daily checkpoints, for example, should be classified as tactical,
whereas service qualification sessions that take place at the end of service design efforts should be
considered strategic efforts. This approach should also help in prioritizing the interaction between
continuous discipline activities and service life cycle season disciplines.
