Consequently, attributes should be employed to discover conceptual
services and provide business and technology context to the development and implementation of
enterprise solutions.
DECISION-DRIVEN PROCESS. The service conceptualization model advocates a decision-driven
method for identifying conceptual services. The derivation of these concepts should be pursued
by employing two major approaches: The first uses business rules that provide context and define
the boundaries for the newly founded concepts. In the second approach, business knowledge and
experience should be the determining factors for establishing conceptual services.
DISJUNCTIVE AND CONJUNCTIVE SERVICE IDENTIFICATION METHODS. The service conceptualization
model offers two major mechanisms for the identification of conceptual services.5
First, the conjunctive approach encourages identification of service commonalities to facilitate
the creation of service groups that can provide collaborative solutions. Second, the disjunctive
approach enables the classification of conceptual services based on service dissimilarities.
