Exhibit 4.1 illustrates the previously discussed process that organizations typically pursue
before embarking on fiscal commitments such as product funding and service-oriented projects.
This illustration highlights major milestones of enterprise product development ahead of conceptual
services identification and concept establishment efforts. This process is known as concept
extraction.
ESTABLISHING CORE ATTRIBUTES
How do we identify and justify services? Where do we start? And equally important, what would
be the right approach? To answer these questions, first analyze the business requirements to
determine how to translate these propositions into software entities and services. The art of mapping
business necessities to software executables should be accomplished by identifying various
attributes of the proposed organizational products. Specifically, attributes are simply descriptions
