"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

Remember that the previously discovered core attribute collection was a primary assessment of the
most important attributes that were assembled during the business requirements inspection phase.
The attribution analysis process, however, provides a visual opportunity to accurately assess and
refine the initial proposed core attributes and determine the most important attribute combination
for future conceptual services analysis.
What is the contribution of this attribution analysis phase to the overall service-oriented
conceptualization process? The attribution analysis process is a significant milestone in the service
conceptualization phase. This initiative enables identification of the conceptual services??™
fundamental properties, provides the motivation and the principles for starting service life cycles,
and helps facilitate the direction of the service development process. Thus, the method by which
conceptual services are founded advocates meticulous selection of their proper attributes from the
previously constructed attribution model in order to discover their conceptual identity.
There are two major approaches for selecting the right attribute combination for identifying
conceptual services: the forward attribute collection method2 and the backward elimination
technique.3 These approaches are search mechanisms that are used to navigate through the attribution
model neural network until the proper attribute combination node has been identified.
