"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

It also offers analysis
mechanisms to discover reusability and asset consolidation opportunities.
5. Concept generalization. Concept generalization activities should be repeatedly used
throughout the service conceptualization phase to derive coarse-grained conceptual services
and provide solutions to wider business problems.
6. Concept specification. This tool facilitates the transformation of concepts into more
granular entities and helps narrow down the scope of the solution.
CONCEPTUAL SERVICE IDENTIFICATION AND CATEGORIZATION
The attribution analysis process, discussed in Chapter 4, yields sets of recommended attributes
that can be further utilized for establishing conceptual services. Without these properties, it would
be impractical to conduct service conceptualization analysis, because these values are essential
inputs into most categorization activities. Remember, discovered hot spot attributes denote opportunities
to be pursued during the conceptualization process. Sweet spots are sets of attributes that
best describe business requirements and are believed to yield a high degree of service-oriented
implementation success. Once these two-tiered recommendations are available, the conceptual
services identification process can begin.
Concept classification is an analysis process that facilitates the discovery of conceptual
services and establishment of service taxonomies.
