EXHIBIT 5.14 ATOMICITY LEVEL IN A HIERARCHICAL STRUCTURE
CONCEPTUAL SERVICE COMPOSITE STRUCTURE. A composite conceptual service aggregates
fine-grained concepts??”smaller conceptual services??”that jointly contribute to a business or
technological solution. This aggregated structure is hierarchical in nature, composed of internal
constituents that form a layered composition. Exhibit 5.15 depicts a composite conceptual
service that contains three layers. The data aggregator conceptual service is the most generalized
concept and is composed of internal layers. The data transformer, the data cleanser, and the data
retriever conceptual services constitute the second layer of this hierarchy. In addition, the data
retriever aggregates the data locator conceptual service.
A composite structure, just as illustrated in Exhibit 5.15, not only sets the boundaries of its
internal conceptual services but maintains hierarchical relationships with its inner concepts, which
are conceived as ???a part of??? a larger service concept. By ???hierarchical relationship??? is meant that
the external entities are the driving concepts and the internal entities provide the details of the
solution.
When a conceptual composite service indeed materializes and evolves as a physical solution
service, in most cases, it physically aggregates smaller tangible services that collaboratively
execute transactions and exchange information.
