"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

Furthermore, with clusters the boundaries
of organizational problems and solution domains can be defined and high-level issues can be
examined instead of trying to provide small-scale tactical remedies.
Unlike the composite structure, a service cluster is not hierarchical in nature and does
not form layers of execution. It is a more distributed structure in which autonomous services are
gathered to offer collaborative remedies. However, these independent conceptual services that are
conceived as cluster-associated members may be composite or atomic structures.
The clustering approach is used to provide comprehensive treatments, rather than utilizing
atomic or composite services to facilitate parts of the solutions. Clusters are strategic tools
that can assist in analyzing business requirements and formulating enterprise proposals. Again,
clusters should be regarded as collections of ideas that are presented by encompassed conceptual
service-related members that are gathered to coexist, collaborate, and provide business and
technological solutions.
The following sections present cluster formations that offer different aggregation mechanisms.
??? Standard Service Cluster
??? Conceptual Service Partitioned Cluster
??? Conceptual Service Overlapping Clusters
??? Conceptual Service Hierarchical Clusters
106 Ch. 5 Conceptual Service Identification
Standard Cluster. A standard cluster structure is the most rudimentary formation that represents
a group of related conceptual services.
