During the analysis service typing process it is advisable to elaborate on their context to illuminate
their capabilities and the disciplines to which they contribute. To simplify this activity,
the recommended method advocates discerning between business, technical, and other types of
services.3 This analysis can be pursued far beyond this approach by further breaking down these
preliminary characterizations into subcategories. It all depends on the organization??™s needs and
service profiling priorities.
For example, the business services category can be broken down into lower organizational
affiliation levels, and even beyond, down to product types. A service type that is
denoted as ???business.fixed-income division.government.Treasury Bills,??? expresses its contribution
to its segment of business and associates it with a specific product. In another example, a
