??? Unified. This pictogram depicts a condition under which two or more atomic services
are merged to form a single atomic service. Recall that analysis unification operations
cannot be applied on composite services or service clusters.
??? Decomposed. Decomposed services are currently self-contained entities that used to be
part of a larger composite service or operated in a service clusters. Unlike the subtracted
services, decomposed assets are still valuable to the organization and the environments
in which they operate.
??? Intersected. The intersected icon typically identifies two or more clusters that were
superimposed to create overlapping sections that reveal shared entities, identify attribute
commonalities, or ascertain new services.
??? Overlapped. This symbol identifies services that reside in overlapping sections created
as a result of the cluster intersection analysis operation.
??? Transformed. Transformed services typically have undergone typing identification
changes. For example, a composite service can be transformed to an atomic entity if
it does not contain any more sub-services, and vice versa: An atomic service can convert
to a composite asset if it has aggregated smaller-scale services.
??? Comment. This symbol should be used when a note is required to further describe an
analysis asset or a modeling activity.
ANALYSIS MODELING RULES
Before moving on to model service analysis solutions, it is necessary to study a number of guiding
rules that must be applied when preparing analysis diagrams.
