"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

3. Analysis services candidates for integration. The analysis services that were proposed
in the discovery and analysis phase are now subjects for integration with the business
architecture perspectives.
SERVICE-ORIENTED BUSINESS ARCHITECTURE PERSPECTIVES INTRODUCTION
The time has come to plan the service-oriented business integration. The services that have
been conceptualized, discovered, and analyzed must be aligned with the organization??™s business
strategies and business model. So where is the starting point? What would be the business architectural
properties with which services would be aligned? Can the business organization provide
alignment benchmarks and standards to facilitate this integration? Can remedies be proposed to
address enterprise concerns without first identifying the business architectural platforms that will
host services in the future?
To answer these questions, remember that businesses do not operate in a vacuum, and
all solution propositions should comply with the charter of the sponsoring stakeholders within
the enterprise. The business organization is expecting effective solutions that not only mitigate
risk but should also be aligned with and in agreement with the current business direction and
strategies. Therefore, business organizations should propose business architecture benchmarks
to enable effective integration with service-oriented initiatives, and in particular, with analysis
services.
