EXHIBIT 10.9 REGIONAL INTEGRATION ENVIRONMENT
CONTINENTAL INTEGRATION ENVIRONMENT. A continental integration environment aggregates
multiple regions, each of which contains multiple business domain locations. This hierarchical
geographical scheme is typical of a dispersed business environment, in which multiple
domains collaborate to fulfill an organization business strategy. These business activities occur
on a single continent and must be coordinated and synchronized to enable flawless business execution.
It is a common enterprise practice, for example, to position various business domains
in different regions or states. A food-manufacturing organization may operate its distribution
center in one state, and its food product??“ordering domain may conduct its business in
another.
A continental integration environment may contain multiple business management centers.
Consequently, one of the most common difficulties is the maintenance of business communications
between regional geographic locations. The same food manufacturer previously mentioned, for
example, would have to develop effective business strategies and acquire powerful technologies
to enable coordination between its food-ordering domain and its distribution hub.
