Exhibit 10.15 illustrates a centralized control structure, in which a domain control center
leads business execution. Note that only one focal control oversees all other domain members in
this structure.
DECENTRALIZED DOMAIN CONTROL STRUCTURES. A decentralized domain control structure
is composed of multiple dispersed control centers that exercise autonomous management privileges.
High-level enterprise control over business domains does not exist. This control structure
advocates gathering domains around a number of control centers, akin to the distributed domain
clustered environment. Thus, service-oriented business integration efforts should be aligned with
these control centers and must be attuned to the propagation of business execution to the various
domain groups. Exhibit 10.16 depicts three major control centers, each of which oversees its
subordinate domains.

DELIVERABLES
The service-oriented business integration delivery model consists of four major artifacts. These
deliverables should become an integral part of the service-oriented life cycle design-time and
run-time disciplines. The artifacts provided will be used in the service-oriented business integration
modeling, which is discussed in Chapter 11.
