"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

??? Management control structure document. The management control structure document
provides a detailed description of the organization??™s control of command and the management
structure that oversees projects. This document should also identify the nature
of the enterprise??™s management configuration: centralized, decentralized, or combined.
In addition, an organizational chart (ORG chart) that identifies the major players and
decision-makers in the organization can benefit any service-oriented business integration.
SUMMARY
The four major business architecture structural perspectives that influence a service-oriented integration
initiative are business domain structures, geographic boundaries, business distribution
formations, and management control aspects of an organization.
Business domain layers, tiers, and multidimensional structures influence the design, architecture,
and alignment of services with the business and require specialized middleware and
service-oriented architecture (SOA) advanced technologies to support these business formations.
Business tiers that are typically comprised of single or multiple domains may operate
in four major geographical environments that should be studied ahead of any service-oriented
business integration effort: local, regional, continental, and transcontinental.
210 Ch. 10 Business Architecture Structural Perspectives
There are four major business distribution formations that must be considered ahead of
any service-oriented business integration activity: federated, autonomous, and business cluster.
