"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

17 ANALYSIS PROPOSITION DIAGRAM OF THE MARKET OVERVIEW REPORT
As recommended, start by studying the requirements. Understand the parties involved and
identify the roles of those who will be captured in the design relationship diagram. Consider the
following use case.
Registered consumers should be able to automatically obtain a quarterly financial market overview that contains
text and diagrams and also includes images. A dedicated service should compile the requested material prior
to initiating a timely download to subscribers.
Next, study the analysis proposition diagram prepared in the service discovery and analysis
phase. Remember, this artifact is merely a draft that can be further refined here. Inspect the
suggested aggregated structures for the services involved, and examine their internal and external
dependencies.
Now, consider the following list that itemizes the aggregated structures in Exhibit 12.17.
Note the use of the analysis notation aggregated icons and the participating service-oriented asset
symbols.
??? This service design relationship diagram presents one major composite service: download
market overview. It is responsible for handling market analysis automated downloads to
subscribing consumers.
??? The download market overview composite service is also made up of two contained
services: the atomic service market analysis and the composite service visual effects.
