USING DESIGN COMPOSITION SUPPORTING BEAMS. Each of the design composition styles
employs corresponding holding beams to support a sound design composition. Remember, these
beams are the glue that holds all the service structures together and also enable the transportation
of messages to their destinations. For example, the circular logical design composition style is
composed of services that are supported by circular beams. In the same fashion, the hierarchical
logical design composition style uses hierarchical beams. Exhibit 13.3 illustrates this concept.
Note that each depicted design composition style corresponds to a supporting beam.

EXHIBIT 13.4 DESIGN COMPOSITION STYLE BEAMS
Using beams to support service structures is a simple task. But first, become acquainted
with the four different symbols used to build a logical design composition diagram.
