of an architectural initiative, such as financial entities that provide business direction, funding,
management, and guidance.
Business Environment Example. Exhibit 15.3 illustrates a banking loan business environment
example that presents a product, an organization, a line of business, and a geographical location.
These different business domains may require the establishment of various architectures that
can empower their operations and provide unique business solutions. Hence, a corresponding
conceptual architecture being devised must reflect and address the various concerns of the business
environment in the enterprise.
The following business imperatives of these illustrated various business domains must
be addressed by proper architectural support: the North America risk mitigation business domain
would require a distributed type of architecture to overcome the geographical challenges that have
emerged. In contrast, a loan division organization would require a more centralized architecture
that can offer a loan application processing solution to local small-business customers. Finally, the
credit verification service and the credit line of business would also require a specialized architecture
that can address customer credit confirmation requirements.
