"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

Exhibit 15.25 illustrates an auto insurance claims Web service
(packaged technological asset) that is conceptualized as an insurance claims processor (using
the conceptualized as symbol). Note that this derived concept can be further used to accommodate
other types of insurance claims, such as home insurance claims or even worker disability
insurance claims.
Another conceptualization process that involves two packaged technological assets is
depicted in Exhibit 15.26. The combined message routing and data transformation services are
conceptualized as an insurance claims hub (denoted as a connection machine). Note that any
conceptualization activity can join a number of packages to form a new technological abstraction.
DEPICTINGDEPENDENCIES BETWEEN ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPTS. The next example employs
the recognized icon to identify potential dependencies between architectural concepts that reflect
future collaboration between the underlying technologies and their implementations. Therefore,
this process is about integration opportunities between architectural concepts and identifying
