"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

These are the artifacts that were produced
in the service-oriented design phase (Chapter 13). The packaged technological icon
also identifies enabling SOA technologies such as intermediaries, monitoring tools, and
even middleware and enabling platform third-party vendor products.
??? Business or technological process icon. This symbol denotes a business or a technological
executed process. A group of processes make up a single transaction.
Finally, three distinct symbols are employed to denote the associations between logical
architecture assets: utilized , executed, and comment. These are illustrated in Exhibit 16.7.

??? Utilized. Use this symbol to identify packaged asset utilization, dependencies, collaboration,
and integration aspects of the technological entities participating in an asset
utilization diagram.
??? Executed. Employ the executed icon to denote a business process that takes part in a
logical architecture solution executed by the various packaged technological assets. This
symbol is used in the transaction directory diagram.
??? Comment. Add remarks by using the comment symbol.
REUSABILITY PERSPECTIVE
The service-oriented logical architecture discipline chiefly addresses reusability aspects of packaged
solutions, meaning the focus is on the interaction and dependency among deployable service
groups, such as clusters and composite services, and on their enabling middleware and platform
technologies.
