"Service-Oriented Modeling (SOA): Service Analysis, Design, and Architecture"

This
method offers logical means to partition an environment based on some determining aspect, such
as business context, type of operations, and even geographically distributed business sections or
line of business (if the organization has embraced a distributed business model). An environment
may be constructed, for example, that contains various tiers, each of which can address a different
business interest. Another tier can be dedicated to the enabling service-oriented technologies only.
Or, a deployable tier can be devised that combines business and technological implementations.

Logical Architecture
Loose Coupling Best Practices
Identifies tightly coupled conditions
1. Decouple technological asset into autonomous
entities
Discovers technological asset dependencies
2. Avoid overly aggregated software entities
3. Reduce asset dependencies
Assists with the enhancement of asset
reusability
